At 1 mg/mL, every 10 units on a U-100 syringe is 0.1 mg of semaglutide.
0.25 mg is 25 units, and 0.5 mg is 50 units. Use the calculator for any other amount.
Dose ↔ units
How long will my vial last?
Uses the vial and dose from the calculator above.
Real vials can hold slightly more or less than the label says, and a little is lost in the needle.

Notes for 1 mg/mL
- At 1 mg/mL, 1 unit is 0.01 mg and 10 units is 0.1 mg.
- 1.5 mg, 1.7 mg, 2 mg, 2.4 mg would be more than 1 mL at this strength, which is more than a 100-unit syringe holds.
- Listed doses up to 0.5 mg fit a 0.5 mL (50-unit) syringe.
- Listed doses up to 0.25 mg fit a 0.3 mL (30-unit) syringe.
Check the strength on every new vial
Units only mean something for one strength. If 20 units was 0.5 mg on a 2.5 mg/mL vial, the same 20 units from a 1 mg/mL vial is 0.2 mg, not 0.5 mg.
In July 2024 the FDA warned about dosing errors with compounded semaglutide, including mix-ups between mg, mL and units (FDA alert). The same math applies to any vial.
Questions
How many units is 0.25 mg of semaglutide at 1 mg/mL?
0.25 mL, which is 25 units on a U-100 insulin syringe.
How many units is 0.5 mg of semaglutide at 1 mg/mL?
