At 5 mg/mL, every 10 units on a U-100 syringe is 0.5 mg of tirzepatide.

2.5 mg is 50 units, and 5 mg is 100 units. Use the calculator for any other amount.

Real vials can hold slightly more or less than the label says, and a little is lost in the needle.

Notes for 5 mg/mL

Check the strength on every new vial

Units only mean something for one strength. If 50 units was 5 mg on a 10 mg/mL vial, the same 50 units from a 5 mg/mL vial is 2.5 mg, not 5 mg.

In July 2024 the FDA warned about dosing errors with compounded semaglutide, including mix-ups between mg, mL and units (FDA alert). The same math applies to any vial.
